About our PCBA Test
PS Electronics aims to bring customers’ products into the market, we will conduct a series of PCBA test after electronic assembly. However, the test methods used for different products vary, so do the customer’s test requirements.
In general, the In-circuit test could fully meet the requirements of the customers, which is what we guarantee for all the outputs. And when the customer’s products possess rare characteristics or get additional requirements, we will carry out other PCBA test according to the requirements, including functional testing, reliability testing and so on.
The Available PCBA Test
1. ICT (In-Circuit-Test) run short/open circuit detection, specific output voltages and nodal currents will be given.
ICT checks the properties of the on-board components and circuitry nets to find out possible functional defects, which come from manufacturing failure or defective components. It relies on the special fixtures made according to fabrication documents, pretty easy and fast to operate, available in Windows as well as Lunix, it is an important guarantee for mass production.
2. FCT (Functional Circuit Test) generally requires the IC programs, PCB manufacturer will create specific fixtures to simulate the functionality of PCBAs to find out the possible problems.
FCT checks the expected performances of the PCBA, typically using special fixtures and in specialized equipment. It also deals with the components and circuitry, but more complex and systematic. Different products run different test items and test methods are mainly provided by customers.
3. Fatigue test, samples will be taken, get functional tested repeatedly for a long time to obtain the failure rate.
As the name implies, to check the reliability of PCBA. Some of our customers require fatigue test, of whom the products mostly work in some complex and difficult to disassemble environments.
4. Burn-in, all the PCBAs must keep powering for hours before ex-factory.
Burn-in is commonly seen in mass production, especially for power adapters or some products with batteries. From a description point of view, it might be similar to fatigue tests, but fatigue test is focused on that process, while burn-in is for the result.
5. Appearance inspection – by AOI machines, X-ray machines, or eyes.
We have got a team of experienced front-line employees, equipped with advanced AOI and X-ray machines, which greatly reduce our repair rate.
PCBA test plays an important role in PCBA manufacturing. Now that the current PCBA is becoming more and more miniaturized, which means the higher difficulty and cost of repairing, so the maturity of PCBA test affects the score of an EMS provider. How is The PCBA Test Charged?
The basic PCBA test cost will be included in our final offer, which is generally fixed and can be cut down when re-ordering. We guarantee reasonable prices and a one-time charging. If we do not have your permission, the price will not be adjusted.
Which PCBA Test Items Should I Use?
We go ICT by default, which is generally enough. But if you have special requirements, we are also happy to go with those. As for what items to choose, please follow your R&D guys, they will be very clear about this part and have those PCBA test files.
